ahhhh great
it requires determination.
and i'm trying to get tht into my head.
it's hard..
to choose and post from the 200+ photos..
and not to mention the ones with my dad.
anyways it's a year late.
just take it as a anniversary.
welcome and behold...
the LoveKorea2005
hahahha
it's cool u noe.. cos i had my birthday there..

anyways.
just a few people to note..
joyce was the tour guide from korea... and her sworn sister is someone famous..
lily is the tour leader from singapore (mom says she just saw her at the natas exhibit 2006 yesterday and she still recognized mom)
jacky was the 'look fierce, kind-hearted' photographer.

22Oct2005:
Singapore -to- Incheon
take-off: 11.00pm(sg time)
landed: 6.20 am (kr time)
*korea's an hour earlier..

anyways when we reached the place.. the sun was all bright and sunny alr.

23Oct2005:
it was quite a weird day..
cos wells, the weather seemed seriously good.. but temperatures were just a little cold cos it was autumn.. it was hovering from 14-18 degree celcius..
and we were supposed to go to jeju straight after we landed.. but cos the flight was delayed.. which meant more time.. so our thoughtful tour guide, Joyce, decided to bring us visit the Namsan Hanok Village.

urban-rural mix
cos the village was quite big.
and it's located in seoul.
there were places to climb ard and see the gardens.
see how the new buildings reflect the passing of time.

the traditional treadmills.

the traditional rooms...
very dae jang geum..

the vats behind the house..
still very dae jang geum.

the traditional houses

after all tht seeing.. we took the flight to jeju..
and it was different cos it's the first time i had to take a bus to the plane and tht climb tht platform or wadeva u call it.
then we arrived in jeju!

according the weather forecast tht place's supposed to be hotter than seoul, cos it's right at the bottom of korea.. but no.. dont believe the weather forecasts! i dont care if it's seriously technically hotter, the wind's enough to kill.

jeju i would say is seriously more rural than seoul, i think tht's kind of obvious. i seriously admire the women on this island. cos the men had always been part of the fishing business and most of them die at sea. at this point the women have to take up the responsibility of the men.. and therefore.. more women less men.
and so they say that jeju has the most wind and the most women.
cos of the winds in jeju, the houses are built shorter and they have piles of stones surround their houses..
anyways the view here's beautiful, and the air is so fresh!

after the ride we had our lunch.
haha my first meal in korea..
tada..

ok. so they didnt exaggerate abt the no. of side dishes in shows. they do have this much at every meal. we had hotpot btw. and there's always seaweed, kimchi and fried anchovies. and their tradition of using metal stuff.

the restaurant and...

the view..

after our very healthy lunch ( oh and btw, the restaurant was very cute), we went on to our visitng againn. we went to Yongduam (dragon head rock).. it's formed by the weathering and continous knocking of the sea waves to the rock for a seriously long time..

we had to walk down a fair distance to see it's glamour.
hmms.. cool eh.
nature's masterpiece.

cos it's a seriously famous tourist attraction, there were many people selling stuff there.. including their very famous oranges.
we also went to the Cheonjeyeon waterfalls, Jusangjeolli where we had to climb and walk like crazy.. but it's worth it.

i dont see it in singapore. yes i dont see it in singapore.

each animal mean something. u toss ur coin at it to make tht wish.

if u look carefully, there are 'seats' from the weathering.. there is a legend about it.

and then to the Teddy Bear Museum! it's paradise.

teddy chinese street.
cute!

teddy terracotta.

teddy marilyn monroe..
it's cute cos there's also tht wnd blowing from the botoom.
and yes the skirt rises.
but cute!

the most expensive bear in the museum, it's a LV.

the outdoors.

thn we went to stay in our hotel, Lotte World Jeju..
whihc was next to the Teddy Bear Musuem,
and it's also where All In was filmed.
it was beautiful.
and i'm glad we got to stay there.
it's big, beautiful and outrageous.
it's got a waterfall, a love lake, buildings and more buildings.
and many many floors..
and also shops selling gucci and stuff.
and it's a 6 star hotel (according to korean classification.. supposed to be the best)
haha ok.. i'll take tht.
the design makes it feel so unreal.
the bedrooms are also big.
the walk from the lift lobbies at each floor is seriously long.

the casino supposed to be good and it's only opened for tourists. muahaha. but sad thing and i dont want to admit.. i was still a minor.
there's also a bar lounge in the middle of the buildings and it's waterfalls and golf courses.
and a band called 'two kims' were playing.. and could be heard from the room we're staying.
this place is MAJESTIC.

a part of the hotel..

the night view..

the view from our room.. also was seen in All In.. we walked around and found the bench tht the leads sat and filmed a scene which was in front of these windmills.

also from our bedroom balcony.
the volcano show could be seen at the rock right at the back at night..

this is the end of day one.
i took 2 days to do this.
cos the uploading's giving me problems.
grahhhhhhhhhhhhh.

more to come...
soon...

no wonder it sounded familiar when i heard this song on the pantene advert.

it was on the movie 'ice princess'.

Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield

I am unwritten, can't read my mind, I'm undefined
I'm just beginning, the pen's in my hand, ending unplanned

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you can not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions

Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten

I break tradition, sometimes my tries, are outside the lines
We've been conditioned to not make mistakes, but I can't live that way

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you can not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions

Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you can not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions

Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins

Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open

The rest is still unwritten
The rest is still unwritten

Hotels...
they either make ur trip a memorable one.. or could just totally ruin it.
think great lighting and design with that big comfy bed vs stinky dirty sheets
while it provides the accomodation we need at our destination place, some could be a lot more than just that.

usually we'd find out the most essential part of classification..
here's when the stars come in handy.
1star: low budget hotels - room service - maid service.
2star: budget hotels + maid service.
3star: middle-class hotel + daily maid service + room service and maybe dry-cleaning, internet access and swimming pool.
4star: first class hotel + all mentioned services + 'luxury' (eg. spa etc)
5star: luxury hotels (most expensive in the world) + extras to enhance stay (eg. private golf courses or small airports)
and also.. quite logically, the prices escalate as u get more stars.

there are also different types of hotels..
boutique, treehouses, caves, capsules, ice, snow, garden, underwater, library..

famous hotels.. include the raffles hotel!!.. cos of it's famous singapore sling..
the largest is first world @ genting, malaysia.
the oldest is hoshi ryokan @ awazu, japan.
muahaha.

the hotel tht's got me gawking all day is the Burj al-Arab which is also the tallest hotel in the world. it's also where ronan keating filmed the mv for 'iris' (see sept 18's entry).
i mean.. the smallest suite ( they cant even call it room) is bigger than any hdb apartment.
and the cheapest room is at USD1000 per night..
so much for 'cheapest'
but it's spectacular.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.. hotels.

vacation-homeslacking
it's got me into a tv freak.
haha.. ok maybe i exaggerated..
but still.
i'm getting interested at programme guides.
anyways. the mtv VMAs were shown last sat on mtv asia.
i loved the fact that they had a performing area on top of a building and it overlooks the whole of nyc.
hmms.. other than that..
errhhmmm?

Video of the year went to Panic! at the Disco with 'i write sins not tradegies'
Best male went to James Blunt with 'you're beautiful'
Best female went to Kelly Clarkson with 'because of you'
Best group went to All-american rejects with 'move along'
Best rap went to chamillionaire feat. krayzie bone with 'ridin'
Best r&b went to beyonce feat. slim thug with 'check it on'
Best hip hop went to black-eyed peas with 'my humps'

blah blah..

this sat it's going to show the mtv chinese concert...
next wed there's a project runway season 3

there are coincidences..
some too ironic.
anyways..
you get remixes and remakes..
this is one example.
and it features one of my fave song..

Iris- Goo Goo Dolls (1998)

and...

Iris- Ronan Keating (2006)

i love the fact that the mv's filmed in dubai...
and the scenery's seriously... fascinating!
it's not how i thought dubai would be like.
cos the only things about dubai i know of is like only oil..fuel..oil..fuel..
tht's abt it.
this changed how i view the place.
the place's got some great views.
i feel like visiting the place..
ok. it's beautifull.. i love the helicopter pad..

but seriously speaking.. both songs have different feels.
one's more rugged.. the other's more.. clean?
perhaps i'm biased... cos i heard the goo goo dolls version first..
so i feel that their vocals matched the song more..
but anyways.. they are both v.cool singers..

Iris - Goo Goo Dolls

And I'd give up forever to touch you
'Cause I know that you feel me somehow
You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be
And I don't want to go home right now

And all I can taste is this moment
And all I can breathe is your life
and sooner or later it's over
I just don't want to miss you tonight

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming
Or the moment of truth in your lies
When everything feels like the movies
Yeah, you bleed just to know you're alive

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken

I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am

frm bhg.com
my bedroom style..Safe Haven

At the end of the day, you like to escape from the world (including the rest of the family!) to relax and recharge, and it sounds like your bedroom is your retreat of choice. With the hectic pace of life today, you're smart to carve out an area of serenity.

To make the most of your getaway space, put in carpet that feels good on your feet, splurge on luxurious high thread count sheets, and invest in window treatments that will allow you to block out the light and noise of the world outside your window. When it comes to color, choose restful greens or blues for a peaceful feel. If space allows, add a comfy chair where you can sit to flip through the mail or read a good book.

Treat yourself to a fabulous cashmere throw that you can curl up with when the weather turns cold. Surround yourself with other items you love, like favorite family photos, softly scented candles, and artwork you adore. Finally, hang a "Do Not Disturb" sign on your door and let the relaxation begin.

Quizzie from weichoo

Your view on yourself:
You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:
You like serious, smart and determined people. You don't judge a book by its cover, so good-looking people aren't necessarily your style. This makes you an attractive person in many people's eyes.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:
You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you might that person.

The seriousness of your love:
You are very serious about relationships and aren't interested in wasting time with people you don't really like. If you meet the right person, you will fall deeply and beautifully in love.

Your views on education
Education is very important in life. You want to study hard and learn as much as you can.

The right job for you:
You have plenty of dream jobs but have little chance of doing any of them if you don't focus on something in particular. You need to choose something and go for it to be happy and achieve success.

How do you view success:
You are confident that you will be successful in your chosen career and nothing will stop you from trying.

What are you most afraid of:
You are afraid of things that you cannot control. Sometimes you show your anger to cover up how you feel.

Who is your true self:
You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve.

i'm losing it.
somebody help!

dreamers are the luckiest people on earth. cos they know how to fantasize this reality world.
i guess the only bad thing is there are times, no matter what, we've gotta get a reality check.
and seriously.. sometimes.. (sorry for being just so honest).. tht sucks.

i'd rather live in a world of my own. i am unrealistic.

the holidays have been weird.
usually time passess quickly.
this time it doesnt.
is it cos i can like see those supp papers coming and my brains trying to prepare me for them?
anyways the only things i've done and places i've been since the holidays started 5 days ago was a trip to kbox, arcade, simei, marine parade, pool, kobayashi, crystal jade, toa payoh.

i'm still pondering over what i shud do for the holidays?
work?
learn something?

oh wells.

i think it's always like this..
ppl always feel that the grass somewhere else is greener.
like me in singapore feel that those countries with the 4 seasons are always in a such a treat.
1st. the weather.
2nd. the scenery.

a dolce vita
at least for now.
cos the exams are overrr.
OVERRRR!
no energy audit
no project management
no building control systems
no real estate and facility management
no total building performance.
for 7 whole weeks.
tht is if i dont get any supp papers..
which i might get for pmngt, bcs and tbp..
sighs.
i'm just worried.

anyways. my motto now is enjoy..
leave the 'studying for supp papers if i get' some other time.
haha.
taking the paper at the sports hall was weird.
it felt like camping+nervousness+exam-like(well, after all it is the exams)+buggies(tht's the thing about being in the hall)
cos one was the night paper
the other was the afternoon.
the last paper which was tbp was unfortunately worse thn i thought
when the teachers give tips and stuff, u'd think they're helping, they are trying to help us pass.
but not in the case for tbp..
perhaps it was just the scope too large to cramp in the brain in a morning's time.
cos we had funny timings for exams.

went with pei nee for late lunch and wandering on the streets of bedok after the last paper.
arent you supposed to feel all so relieved? haha surprisingly i didnt.. just like any other papers i had other thn this exam.

gotta find something to do during the holis.
started by going to kbox with pei nee today..
we were supposed to go to the cc but it was full,
so we went to the one at marine parade.
it was quite full too but thankfully we got a booking so it wasnt the end of the world.
perhaps cos it's teacher's day..
and wad a wonderful timing which means 10 days for the sept holis.

i wanna find work.. anyone got lobang?
haha

i miss bowling, the beaches, pool, arcades, shopping malls, stoning, not having to rush all the time.

and definitely..
a dolce vita!=)

cheers.
