ahhhh great
it requires determination.
and i'm trying to get tht into my head.
it's hard..
to choose and post from the 200+ photos..
and not to mention the ones with my dad.
anyways it's a year late.
just take it as a anniversary.
welcome and behold...
the LoveKorea2005
hahahha
it's cool u noe.. cos i had my birthday there..

anyways.
just a few people to note..
joyce was the tour guide from korea... and her sworn sister is someone famous..
lily is the tour leader from singapore (mom says she just saw her at the natas exhibit 2006 yesterday and she still recognized mom)
jacky was the 'look fierce, kind-hearted' photographer.

22Oct2005:
Singapore -to- Incheon
take-off: 11.00pm(sg time)
landed: 6.20 am (kr time)
*korea's an hour earlier..

anyways when we reached the place.. the sun was all bright and sunny alr.

23Oct2005:
it was quite a weird day..
cos wells, the weather seemed seriously good.. but temperatures were just a little cold cos it was autumn.. it was hovering from 14-18 degree celcius..
and we were supposed to go to jeju straight after we landed.. but cos the flight was delayed.. which meant more time.. so our thoughtful tour guide, Joyce, decided to bring us visit the Namsan Hanok Village.

urban-rural mix
cos the village was quite big.
and it's located in seoul.
there were places to climb ard and see the gardens.
see how the new buildings reflect the passing of time.

the traditional treadmills.

the traditional rooms...
very dae jang geum..

the vats behind the house..
still very dae jang geum.

the traditional houses

after all tht seeing.. we took the flight to jeju..
and it was different cos it's the first time i had to take a bus to the plane and tht climb tht platform or wadeva u call it.
then we arrived in jeju!

according the weather forecast tht place's supposed to be hotter than seoul, cos it's right at the bottom of korea.. but no.. dont believe the weather forecasts! i dont care if it's seriously technically hotter, the wind's enough to kill.

jeju i would say is seriously more rural than seoul, i think tht's kind of obvious. i seriously admire the women on this island. cos the men had always been part of the fishing business and most of them die at sea. at this point the women have to take up the responsibility of the men.. and therefore.. more women less men.
and so they say that jeju has the most wind and the most women.
cos of the winds in jeju, the houses are built shorter and they have piles of stones surround their houses..
anyways the view here's beautiful, and the air is so fresh!

after the ride we had our lunch.
haha my first meal in korea..
tada..

ok. so they didnt exaggerate abt the no. of side dishes in shows. they do have this much at every meal. we had hotpot btw. and there's always seaweed, kimchi and fried anchovies. and their tradition of using metal stuff.

the restaurant and...

the view..

after our very healthy lunch ( oh and btw, the restaurant was very cute), we went on to our visitng againn. we went to Yongduam (dragon head rock).. it's formed by the weathering and continous knocking of the sea waves to the rock for a seriously long time..

we had to walk down a fair distance to see it's glamour.
hmms.. cool eh.
nature's masterpiece.

cos it's a seriously famous tourist attraction, there were many people selling stuff there.. including their very famous oranges.
we also went to the Cheonjeyeon waterfalls, Jusangjeolli where we had to climb and walk like crazy.. but it's worth it.

i dont see it in singapore. yes i dont see it in singapore.

each animal mean something. u toss ur coin at it to make tht wish.

if u look carefully, there are 'seats' from the weathering.. there is a legend about it.

and then to the Teddy Bear Museum! it's paradise.

teddy chinese street.
cute!

teddy terracotta.

teddy marilyn monroe..
it's cute cos there's also tht wnd blowing from the botoom.
and yes the skirt rises.
but cute!

the most expensive bear in the museum, it's a LV.

the outdoors.

thn we went to stay in our hotel, Lotte World Jeju..
whihc was next to the Teddy Bear Musuem,
and it's also where All In was filmed.
it was beautiful.
and i'm glad we got to stay there.
it's big, beautiful and outrageous.
it's got a waterfall, a love lake, buildings and more buildings.
and many many floors..
and also shops selling gucci and stuff.
and it's a 6 star hotel (according to korean classification.. supposed to be the best)
haha ok.. i'll take tht.
the design makes it feel so unreal.
the bedrooms are also big.
the walk from the lift lobbies at each floor is seriously long.

the casino supposed to be good and it's only opened for tourists. muahaha. but sad thing and i dont want to admit.. i was still a minor.
there's also a bar lounge in the middle of the buildings and it's waterfalls and golf courses.
and a band called 'two kims' were playing.. and could be heard from the room we're staying.
this place is MAJESTIC.

a part of the hotel..

the night view..

the view from our room.. also was seen in All In.. we walked around and found the bench tht the leads sat and filmed a scene which was in front of these windmills.

also from our bedroom balcony.
the volcano show could be seen at the rock right at the back at night..

this is the end of day one.
i took 2 days to do this.
cos the uploading's giving me problems.
grahhhhhhhhhhhhh.

more to come...
soon...
